Transfer Information

  • Families may request to have their student attend a Redmond School District school other than their assigned neighborhood school. Transfer requests are subject to district guidelines, available space, staffing, and other school-specific considerations.

  •

Per Redmond School District Policy, the deadline for intradistrict transfers is May 31. Any transfer requests that meet board policy requirements and are received after the May 31 deadline will be considered on an individual basis per program and staffing capacity.

All high school transfer requests will be time-stamped and kept on file in the order received. If a program reaches capacity, students will be placed on a waitlist and considered for transfer as space becomes available.

This process is necessary to account for staffing needs and student schedules at both high schools. Maintaining a balanced number of students between the schools allows the district to appropriately plan staffing and create workable class schedules for students

All middle school transfer requests will be time-stamped and kept on file in the order received. If a school reaches capacity, students will be placed on a waitlist and considered for transfer on a 1 to 1 basis.

1 to 1 means a transfer may be approved when a student leaves the school or when students are requesting transfers in opposite directions between the two middle schools, allowing the transfer without exceeding staffing capacity.

All elementary school transfer requests will be time-stamped and kept on file in the order received. If a grade level reaches capacity, students will be placed on a waitlist and considered for transfer as space becomes available.

Maintaining balanced class sizes allows the district to appropriately plan staffing and other resources, and to create an optimal learning environment for students and staff.

Middle Schools: Each Middle school has its own voluntary supply list.

High Schools: There’s no official supply list. Teachers may request additional supplies at the beginning of the school year.  Middle school supplies are similar to what you can expect your student to need in high school.
