Redmond School District is dedicated to providing an environment that promotes equal opportunity and prohibits discrimination in all of its educational and employment activities.
The district maintains a firm commitment to ensuring equal educational and employment opportunities for everyone. In alignment with this policy, the district strictly forbids discrimination or harassment based on any legally protected characteristics. These include, but are not limited to, a person’s actual or perceived race, color, national or ethnic origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital or familial status, pregnancy, economic status, age, disability (mental or physical), genetic information, military or veteran status, or association with anyone in these protected groups. This prohibition covers all district programs, activities, and practices, such as employment, assignment and promotion of staff, educational programs, student discipline, the use of district facilities, curriculum, and public meetings.
Redmond School District complies with all relevant federal and state regulations, including but not limited to: Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973; the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 and the ADA Amendments Act of 2008; as well as Oregon laws addressing discrimination.
