Mask Update 2/28/22

Feb. 28, 2022

Feb. 28, 2022

RSD Families,

Today, Oregon Gov. Kate Brown announced the state of Oregon will no longer require masks in schools and all other indoor settings beginning at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, March 11.

Also today, the Redmond School District’s school board revised its resolution regarding masking. The board is no longer directing the school district to make masking optional ahead of the state’s end date, and instead has directed the district to follow state mask requirements.

As a result, masks will be required in our schools for just two more weeks, through the end of the day on March 11. Beginning on Monday, March 14, students and staff will no longer be required to wear masks in our schools or on our school buses. Masks are still recommended, especially for those who are unvaccinated or who are immunocompromised.

We expect more updates from the state regarding other COVID-related rules, and will keep you posted as those come up. In the meantime, we appreciate your patience as we have worked through the constantly changing requirements and expectations. We look forward to seeing lots of smiles on Monday, March 14.
